News has come in that production on the new Scott Peters ‘V’ television series for ABC has been closed down.
According to reports coming from VancouverFilm Warner Bros have closed production down for two weeks because the scripts are not living up to the promise of the series pilot episode, which was a huge hit with fans when shown at this years San Diego Comic Con.

The two week break is said to be in place so that writers have more time to focus on improving the quality of scripts.

This could be bad news for the series, and may mean that the powers that be at Warner are considering a new producer to take over the day to day running on the show.

V is a remake of the 1984 NBC mini-series, starring Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost), Scott Wolf (Party of Five), Morena Baccarin (Firefly) and Morris Chestnut. It is set to air this fall on ABC.

Well, at least they are giving it some thought rather than just putting more schlock on the air. I'll give them props for that.

Hopefully, something better will come out of the process.

As much as I enjoyed "V" as a teenager in the 80's, it's not exact a high artistic mark to hit.
Makes me wonder just how bad those scripts had to be for the Warner execs to have a OMG moment.

I'd say Knight Rider (2008 edition) bad, but I'm just spitballin'.

Hey the new Knight Rider was better than the 1991 Knight Rider 2000 movie.

You got that right! KR 2000 was really, really awful. But, not kitschy awful (like the Star War Holiday Special.)

I actually thought Knight Rider '08 started to get pretty good towards the end. After they became FLAG again it seemed like the series started heading back to be more like the original. Sadly, too little too late. As for V, I'm glad they're putting some thought into it. I still enjoy watching the original mini-series. When I was in college it was probably one of the few T.V. shows that everyone on campus wanted to watch! Well, at least everyone who showed up in the T.V. lounges to watch T.V.!

You know I actually agree with you about KR. The later half of the season was more watchable. Think they started to head in th eright direction and given a little more time might have pulled it off.

As far as the original "V" miniseries, EVERYONE tuned into that! It was pretty phenomenal. I thought it was cool that all these people were suddenly watching Sci-fi that used to make fun of me for it! LOL

I’m looking forward to the premier tonight, and it will be good to see Morena Baccarin back on TV :unibrow:

Did anyone else catch the re-running of the original V this past weekend? My wife was laughing at all the outdated hair styles, clothing, makeup & bad acting. :smt005
