I'm installing Warhammer: Space Marine for a customer (long story, basically it would not activate on Steam, Steam support had no ideas, I'd tried everything on the Internet, and there was a good reason for a fresh install of Windows XP anyway). It comes on two discs. Only the first disc gets used during installation, then Steam has to be started, then you have to download about 8GB of data off the Internet.

I'm not sure there are many people out there with an Internet connection that rivals the speed of a DVD drive.

8 gigs! That is a lot for ANYONE. Don't care what kind of connection you have or how good it might be. That could easily be a days worth of download if not several.

Just insane. Spend the 50ยข and burn it to a damn disc for people.

The bizarre thing is the second DVD that hasn't been used so far. I've started the game and played about ten seconds' worth. It could be used later but that's an odd way to work.
