If you are a fan of Space:1999, then you are going to love Destination: Moonbase Alpha. This 500 page tome is the most comprehensive book ever published about the classic television series. It takes you from the early pre-production days of the series, through every episode, and into what might be. Each episode is reviewed in detail including commentary from those who were involved. Even Christopher Lee comments on his episode "Earthbound"! The bloopers and quote sections are especially fun. It makes you want to watch each episode again to catch the bloopers and hear the quotes!
I haven't read through the entire book (I'm about half way through Year One), but this is one best books I have read about a television series. What sets it apart is it's lack of illustrations and lack of a lot of photos (there is a small photo section in the middle). Why does that set it apart? Wouldn't that be a strike against the book? On the contrary. It means there is more room for great information. And it is jam-packed with information. I know a lot of books make that claim but this one delivers! I showed it to my wife and she was amazed how full it was. The words on each page nearly go all the way to page edge.
I highly recommend this book and you can get your copy at
