new toy!

I've recently acquired the canon EOS 450D/Rebel XSi with the 18-55 IS and the 50mm f/1.8, and am looking forward to some outings with it. Been sick for the past few weeks though, that's why i haven't really played with it yet.

. Nice pick on the nifty fifty. I have a 50mm f1.7 and i love it. I wouldn't mind upgrading it to an auto focus 50mm f1.4 tho

As much as i like manual focus, it's handy to have auto focus

Congratulations on the new camera! My dad has the XSI, and I've been pretty impressed so far with the images I've seen him take with the 18-55 kit lens. I read a lot at the FM forums, and I can tell you there are quite a few 40D owners that are miffed at how good the XSI is.

I had the 50 f/1.8 lens for awhile, definitely the best bang for the buck lens Canon sells.

So yeah, lets see some pics! :nod:

Yeah i work part time at a camera place doing sales and printing, so i get a chance to play with heaps of camera gear. The 450D seems to be one of the better cameras available when looking at price/performance.

as i have said, i've been quite sick over the past couple of weeks (still trying to shake off the final bits of a bad throat), but i will make an effort to make use of some morning light (and hopefully some evenings) to take a few shots around, when i don't have uni classes to contend with.
