I think it's an nvidia driver issue - some others on the nvidia forums have complained of it too, older nvidia cards (like 7 series) with CRTs (I think) have mentioned it. On my system, the contrast is way too high, so say a game like Doom 3 is virtually impossible to play (it's the same with every game though). The nvidia colour correction system allows me to make some changes, but it isn't as flexible as the nvidia classic UI one was.

On default settings, the colour correction isn't like the Win2k driver's default settings.

- edit - I checked up on the situation, and the problem is still there with the latest drivers.

I picked up a boxed copy of the Witcher EE last week and I'm loving it. Really good game, has a very old-school RPG feel to it that's very appealing to me. The graphics are pretty good, nothing spectacular but certainly not dated looking. The game re-uses the same models too often, though, so you feel like you're looking at the same merchant or prostitute all the time, but that's a minor niggle and one that's pretty common in RPGs. The game is also for adults, lots of foul language that could offend the young or puritanical, and includes sex and the infamous sex cards.

Edit: forgot to mention that I'm insanely addicted to the dice mini-game. I've made about 2,000 orens playing various NPCs, enough to buy the upgraded armor in chapter 2.

I've also picked up a copy of the Witcher EE. Haven't gone far into it yet (damn uni work), but i'm liking it thus far.

Because of Albatross, I got sucked back into WoW.

Been hammering on WoW for a week now, got a new toon up to level 22 and dont see any signs of slowing down.

I'm not addicted to WoW at all, I can stop whenever I want. *twitch*

I am really hoping that I can play a little bit when the expansion hits and then call it quits. I can dream, can't I?

Any comments on Crysis Warhead? I found the first game looks lovely, plays ok but is way too short.

I've had more fun messing around with Crytek Sandbox 2 tbh. I just love stacking barrels half a mile high and knocking them over. BARREL PILE!!!!

Try Sandbox 2 if you are at a loose end, its great fun!!

I stacked 650 barrels in huge piles then made a giant ramp out of the earth and put a nice flat road down it. I placed a cable drum on its side at the top of the hill and increased its mass. Then I put a zero-gravity bubble around the barrel pile and pushed the drum down the hill into them with highly entertaining results!

For even more fun roll something explosive towards them. LOL

I love physics in games, its just endless fun!

Just as fun was placing some of the prefabricated destructable village houses in a huge vertical pile and then grenading them and watching the PC struggle as they collapsed in on eachother. I have yet to get the hang of making ground textures and vegetation models look realistic but I can create nice rivers and roads. I jsut do it for the fun with physics though.

Just completed Devil May Cry 4 on the 360. Haven't been on the 360 in a while. Game was so much fun. I am going through it again in Devil Hunter Mode. I'm so glad i have kept most of my abilities. Racking up proud souls like there is no tomorrow

I completed Devil May Cry 4 in Human mode earlier on (easy setting for those unfamiliar with the DMC universe) and yesterday i completed it on Devil Hunter mode (the mode available if you are familiar with the DMC games). This has unlocked the bloody palace which allows you to progress different enclosed arena like levels beating se7en colours of blood out of hellspawn to a time limit. It you win, you progress to the next. Also the Son of Sparda difficulty mode is unlocked and i am currently on mission 5. As usual there are major differences such as getting the more feircer foes earlier (and sometimes frustrating) but the good thing is all the abilities i had acquired in the earlier difficulty settings have carried over, thus i'm stronger with a host of moves to dispence with the minions of the boss man. Awesome game. To think when i first played the demo i dismissed it and deleted it straight away. Never judge a book by its cover me.

You know what, to complete the game in Devil Hunter mode, i spent 7 hours from mission 12 to complete it. Some of the later levels was a nightmare, especially mission 19 with the freaking arbitrary dice of annoyance (kept on landing on red  ). Anyway, i have never spent 7 hours in my life playing a game. Most was 2 hours (and i had a break). Just goes to show how awesome this game is.

I can't wait for Devil May Cry 5

Now that the NDA is lifted I can say it's MoM (Mines of Moria) I've been playing. Overall a worthy expansion for Lord of The Rings Online. You'll really love it if you play DPS heavies like Hunters or Champions. The legendary weapon system is pretty neat too.

I am playing Dead Space for the PC and Uncharted Drakes fortune on the PS3. For Uncharted.....WOW 8) . Certainly will tie me over till Gears of War 2 gets released but is is definately the most visually striking game on a console i have ever seen and is freaking good. I like it a lat.

Also the Mirrors Edge demo is out on PSN which i found pretty good. Love the dynamics of the game. Will be out on XBL on the 31st.
