I actually really enjoyed it from start to finish. The game is seriously demented and you'll be lucky to keep your sanity if you play it with a nice pair of headphones on since the sound effects are awesome. As far as graphical depictions of hell go I'd say it was pretty close to how I'd imagine things to be.
Take the first level of hell (Lust) for example and everything resembles male and female genitalia along with boobs hidden all over the place lol
Theres rivers of molten gold and blood with drowning souls and its pretty damn gratuitous with its violence too.
Bad points for me were a few cheapshot deaths where you can walk or be knocked over the edge of a platform into the gold or blood or whatever the hazard happens to be and you cant jump back out. Sink, death, reload.
Theres a few spots that forced you to be very careful about where you positioned yourself during fights and one or two dodgy jumps that didnt feel very precise. These bad points for me didnt outweigh the overall experience of the game.
Boss fights were enjoyable and didnt feel drawn out too long and the Lust boss in particular really made my skin crawl. lol Just wait until you see it.
One thing I will say though is that it does feel like a poor man's God of War. If I didnt have that series of games to compare it to then it would be excellent. I managed the Classic mode which I think is the Easy mode in about 7.5 hours which isnt all that long but I could see it being a lot longer as things get tougher.
Its not speedy like Bayonetta and really I think that I enjoyed it more. Bayonetta is more like Devil May Cry as DE is more like GoW. The play style is different and I didnt get an achy thumb playing it like I do with Bayonetta.
I'd say, maybe wait a while and pick it up second hand in a few months after you have finished with GoW and the summer release slack off hits

I'll be surprised if I play it again once I get my hands on GoW. Hows this for luck though, Im going snowboarding on March 20th. Dont wanna see any major spoilers on here
