Well I was going thru my game collection that I had and I thought I would give XIII a go again, came with my vid card.

Well I had installed some demo with StarForce on it a bit ago, so it was on my system.

I had installed XIII and started to play it, and when it went to change levels it crashed right to desktop. So I went out to get and apply the patch. Loaded the game back up, and I could get to the next level. I continue playing a bit and came up to a point where I goofed up, so I was going to go back to the last save point. Selected the option to go back to the Main Menu (as you can't load a saved game from inside a game, kinda weird but hey), and the game just froze. Alt-F4, ended it and went to launch it again, and the loading screen just sat there. Tried again, and sat there.

I was getting ready to uninstall the game when I remembered I had StarForce on the system. Grabbed a remover, restarted the system, and what do you know, the game launched without a hitch, and is now actually loading faster, Much faster.

I have been a bit hesitant on commenting on StarForce, but it does indeed seem that it hobbles a system when it gets something it doesn't like, and throttled down my drive, quite substantially.

All in all I know that I will be not be getting Anything, not even a demo, with Starforce on it ever.

For that dont know, Starforce is a controversial anti-piracy program that some games are shipping with to prevent the game from being pirated.

However, all I have heard is that is very unstable and causes a lot of problems.

Koskun, do you have a link to the remover or was it just an ordinary uninstall program?
