That all sounds pretty cool. I havent played in a while as I have been pretty busy with the website.

But Oblivion comes out next week, so that will be sucking up a LARGE portion of my time.

Well I gave the trial another shot, and I have to say I am just not impressed.

Overall the playstyle is a lot like WoW, and just about every other MMO out there. WASD, clicky to select, number keys to attack, blah blah blah. There really isn't to much you can do to mess that up, so no real problems with getting around and attacking. I will say the ability to put spells/attacks in a queue is a mixed bag with me. Part of me sees it as a bit of the dumbing down, I can see this really at the lower levels. You don't have to pay attention as much at the lower levels when you can just attack from queue. I could see it being a detriment at higher levels

Now on to my real problem with the game, the graphics. Honestly to me, they S***. At the highest max settings they do look good... up close. As soon as I zoomed away everything got slightly blurry. I hate this. I got the settings at the High Quality with a few minor things turned off, and it just looks aweful. It is kind of hard to describe, but everything looks hazy and muted, until I get right on top of it. And jagged edges, dear god at even a guess of 40' away buildings and arches look like they are made of giant lego pieces. For the love of god please tell me you can enable AA in thsi game. Even 2x I would guess would be a godsend.

The character classes and race selection I do kind of like, as in it has a large selection, but that can also hurt. The overwhelming amount to choose from. For instance, someone like me new to the game could spend a LOT of time going through all the different race/class combinations to see what would be the best, where as a newbie could make what they wanted, and then perhaps find out they didn't get the best combination (possible). Me though I picked it up pretty good and didn't get to hosed.

Overall in my opinion the graphics are what just killed it for me. In WoW the graphics may look a little cartoony to some, but they are nice crisp, clean, and render out very well. EQ2 just tried way to much and made anyone that doesn't have the hardware to run it well bend over and take it from a gnome.

If they could clean up the graphics so everything doesn't look like I am seeing it through foggy classes, make the quality be everywhere and not just within about 5 feet of you, I will give it another shot, but right now I just can't get into it at all.

Playability 4 out of 5. Looks 1 out of 5.

Now this may change if there are those out here that know how to tweak the graphics settings so that everything looks sharp and clean and not just that in close proximity, but I am not holding my breath.

Got my Illusionist, Quarto, to 70th level a few months ago and my dwarf pally to 53rd level. I think I've pretty much lost almost all interest in the game at this point, even with the new expansion pack coming out. Vanguard looks tempting, but there's a lot of cool stuff coming out for Christmas that'll keep me occupied.

Yeah, I got burned out on EQII a while ago.

I am giving D&D Online a try right now.

So far its pretty cool, the Dungeon Master voice adds a lot to the game IMHO.

And the puzzles are a huge step over go kill x monsters and return.

Although it takes some getting use to not getting XP for every kill, you only get XP for completing quests.
