Starfest Sci-fi Tech Panel

Sunday, April 24th, 2011

Recorded live at Denver Starfest 2011!
Science-fiction has prophesied everything from wrist radios to flying cars and warp drive. Some of it has come true (cell phones) some hasn’t exactly lived up to our expectations, (space travel) and some — well, still waiting on that transporter.

A fantastic group stopped in to join in the discussion. Many, many thanks to everyone who participated!

Inception Perceptions

Monday, September 13th, 2010

We finally got around to seeing “Inception”. (Friends Katie and Shonda got there long before us as you will hear in the beginning) We talk about this creative film and its allure to viewers that are not so geeky as well the sci-fi lovers among us and that leads us to a brief discussion on what brought us into the science fiction world and what we think is a good entry level show or movie for the uninitiated.
As if that were not enough the new “V” gets a going over!

Movie monsters. The good, the bad, and the awful.

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

Movie monsters have been with us since the earliest days of film. Some have been incredible, some have been scary and some have been absolutely horrible and down right bad.
A recent viewing and discussion of the film “Splice” brought on a larger talk about what exactly makes a good movie monster.
Not surprisingly “Alien” comes up a lot.

Doctor Who, Season 5 discussion

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

It’s our 10th episode! We made it to double digits!

Since we started our podcast with a Russell Davies era retrospective, had a very popular 5th episode where we talked about our expectations a hopes of then upcoming 5th season, we thought it only right that this milestone should be all about the good Doctor once again!
John Jackson, founder of Jonja.net, joins Steve and Christopher this time around to talk about the highs and lows of this years Who. Some great stuff and some surprisingly critical discussions from two of us that came in to the ‘cast thinking we would be defending it!
